It’s been one full year of sitting still.
Almost 365 days exactly since the glitz and glam of hustle culture disappeared, leaving a trail of over-commitment and poorly aligned priorities in its wake.
Don’t worry; I’m not going to go into some deep reflection while I relive the early months of quarantine and how traumatic and debilitating it was for us all.
Let’s give ourselves some credit! We have made it through what is arguably one of the most challenging years in our recent history. Some days, waking up and taking the smallest step forward is a reason to celebrate.
If you have lost someone close to you, I extend my deepest condolences. As we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the disbursement of vaccines, I never want to overshadow just how much we’ve all lost and sacrificed in the meantime.
Damn, what a difference a year makes.
Six months into the pandemic, I decided to grasp on to the few things I could control. I left a salaried position, relied on some freelance work, and put myself and my family first. It’s been a rollercoaster ride, but as I shared my journey, I heard even more amazing ones in response.
So I’ve decided to create a space to share them, and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my podcast, Reinventing With Mindy! These are real stories from real people as they scrap the old ways and create a path all their own.
